WorkFlow Studios is sponsoring a free XPages Workshop to be held at WorkFlow Studios' Dallas office, taught by our special guest, Declan Lynch. The session will be based upon the tutorial provided by Declan at Dec's Dom Blog. In the Workshop, we will create a custom organization Phonebook application. The following design aspects will be covered:
- Using application themes for XPages development, specifically focusing on IBM's OneUI theme
- Developing custom controls allowing for common usage across XPages
- Showing how "server-side Javascript" is used in XPages, not just client-side Javascript
- Show how you can use @formula language within JavaScript
- Show how javascript has a language binding to the Notes Objects (just like Lotusscript)
- Working with traditional Forms and Views, incorporating them in XPages
- Using "repeat" controls
- Defining and using external data sources
- Custom view handling, alternating rows, categorized views
- Linking XPages together
- Using breadcrumb controls to aid page navigation
- Using Tabbed Panel controls
- How to edit documents within XPages
- Performing data validation in an XPage client-side and server-side
- Using Regular Expressions for data validation
- How to setup Action Bars for an XPage
- Using the Pager control for view navigation
- Using data from multiple data sources on one XPage
- How to debug XPages
- Performing Search with XPages
- Selectively hide or make available features in an XPage
